The rich history of the Port Nicholson Amateur Cycling Club dates back to its formation on June 9, 1926, at a meeting held in the YMCA rooms on Willis Street. In the early 1930s, the Poneke Amateur Cycling Club emerged, and the two clubs joined forces in the late 1960s to create the Port Nicholson Poneke Cycling Club (PNP).

PNP, commemorating its 90th anniversary in 2016, stands as a thriving institution that has excelled across three cycling disciplines. A consistent presence on the podium at both Centre and National levels, PNP has been home to exceptional riders and administrators over the years, including notable figures like Alvin Pennington, Alan Rice, and Harry Kent.

While honoring its legacy, PNP is equally proud to be fostering a new generation of stars. Emerging talents such as Samara Sheppard, Jack Compton, Kim Hurst, and Eden Cruise showcase the club's commitment to cultivating excellence in cycling.
