Wellington Masters Cycling Club
Established in 1983, the Wellington Masters Cycling Club (WMCC), affectionately known as the "Vets," stands as a pioneering force in New Zealand's cycling scene. Founded by a group of experienced cyclists, WMCC was the country's first veterans-only club, created to provide a platform for racing, recreation, and social camaraderie.
Initially known as the Veterans' Road Time Trial Association (VRTTA), the club's focus was on time trial events. As the scope expanded to include road racing, the name evolved to the Wellington Veteran Cycling Club and, more recently, Wellington Masters.
Affiliated with Cycling NZ, New Zealand's cycling governing body, WMCC upholds the highest standards in the sport. The club actively contributes to the cycling community by organizing marshal duties at two events during the season. This commitment ensures a safe environment for riders and racers alike, allowing members the freedom and peace of mind to fully enjoy their cycling pursuits.
Join the Wellington Masters Cycling Club, where a rich history meets a vibrant present. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newcomer to the cycling scene, WMCC offers a supportive community where the love for cycling is celebrated in all its forms. Ride, race, and revel in the camaraderie that defines Wellington Masters.
