Revolve Cycling
Established in 2009, Revolve's journey began when founders Ashley and Marjolein met at a mountain bike race named the Screaming ‘O. What initially started as a casual Saturday morning road ride group soon blossomed into an enthusiastic Taupo training group. Inspired by the positive experiences, they realized they were onto something significant.
Over the years, Revolve has experienced substantial growth. By 2015, over 1000 people had subscribed to the "Weekly Revolver" e-newsletter. The community expanded its online presence with active Facebook and Instagram pages, garnering a growing number of likes. The range of rides, social trips, community events, and cycling activities flourished, leading to the establishment of a dedicated Crew (committee) in 2011.
Revolve's mission is to help beginners enter the sport, enhance the riding skills of all participants, and promote biking to girls and women of all ages. They offer weekly/fortnightly rides, skills clinics, and maintenance sessions throughout the year. The community encourages participation in races, building confidence and fitness.
In addition to fostering a love for cycling, Revolve is dedicated to trail preservation and maintenance in the Wellington area. The community became a Charitable Trust in May 2011, highlighting their commitment to supporting and enhancing the cycling experience for women.
To learn more about their mission, you can watch Ash & MJ’s TED TALK. Revolve is more than a cycling community; it's a thriving hub for women to build confidence, skills, and lasting friendships through the joy of biking.
