The Belmont Area Mountain Bike Association (BAMBA) emerged in 2009 as an incorporated society, later transitioning into a charitable trust. Its founding purpose is to champion the interests of mountain bikers and recreational users of the Belmont Regional Park.

BAMBA's Core Objectives:

1. Advocate for the interests of mountain bikers within Belmont Regional Park.
2. Collaborate with Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC), Friends of Belmont Regional Park (FoBRP), and other stakeholders.
3. Establish, maintain, enhance, and preserve mountain biking and multi-use trails, emphasizing minimal environmental impact.
4. Ensure ongoing access to existing trails and work toward extending access to other park areas.
5. Maintain a long-term perspective on trail requirements as part of the Trail Network Plan.

BAMBA serves as a vital link between the mountain biking community and regional authorities, actively working to ensure a sustainable and accessible trail network in Belmont Regional Park.
