Potomac Pedalers, a prominent non-profit organization, stands as a beacon for bicycling enthusiasts in the Metropolitan Washington D.C. area. As one of the largest cycling clubs in the United States, we are dedicated to education, recreation, and fostering a vibrant social community for cyclists of all levels. Affiliated with the League of American Bicyclists, we operate as a tax-exempt, non-profit under IRS code 501(c)3.

Our focus is on providing an inclusive weekend ride schedule catering to the diverse experience and abilities of our members, whether they are novices or seasoned veterans. With over 1,000 Saturday and Sunday rides annually, our routes traverse the varied terrains of the National Capital metropolitan area and its surrounding countryside. Distances range from 10 to 75 miles, accommodating speeds from 8 to over 20 miles per hour.

Beyond weekend rides, we offer weekday evening rides during the summer, special out-of-town weekend events, and the annual Back Roads Century featuring ride distances up to 100 miles. Governed by an Executive Committee, elected members serve two-year terms, ensuring the continuous growth and vibrancy of the Potomac Pedalers community.
