Welcome to the Northwestern Cycling Club, where the vibrant cycling community in the Greater Chicago area comes together to explore the beautiful scenery along Lake Michigan. Our club embraces riders of all levels, offering a no-drop ride at least once a week. During these rides, we move at the pace of the slowest rider, making stops to capture picturesque moments, indulge in delicious snacks like donuts, hot dogs, pizza, and more.

For members seeking more intensive training and racing experiences, our seasoned cyclists engage in serious rides a few times a week. These rides may include intervals or full-out challenging sessions, providing a platform for those aiming to enhance their racing skills.

Racing:As Northwestern's all-in-one cycling club and team, we actively participate in the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference (MWCCC) races in road and cyclocross disciplines. The road season typically kicks off with Spring Break, spanning from March to the end of April, while the cyclocross season commences in November and concludes at year-end. Rides:Our rides cover diverse terrains, including roads and various bike trails around the Chicago area. Popular routes include the Lakefront Trail, Skokie Valley Bike Trail (Bunny Trail), and the North Branch Trail. Rides vary in length, ranging from 10 to 100 miles. We encourage participants to choose a distance that aligns with their comfort level to ensure an enjoyable experience without complete exhaustion or other challenges.
