A group of passionate women came together with a shared love for cycling. They decided to channel their enthusiasm into creating a space where women of all ages and backgrounds could come together to embrace the joy of riding. Thus, our cycling story began.
Our dedicated group of ladies, each with their own unique story and love for cycling, took on the role of ride organizers. They set out to create a welcoming community where the hum of spinning wheels echoed through the streets on a regular basis.
In 2014, one of our founding members embarked on a journey with Free Wheel North, a disability cycling charity. What started as a few volunteer hours eventually blossomed into a full-time role as Project Coordinator in 2015. Managing a fantastic team, she became deeply involved in the cycling world, inspired to encourage and support others in discovering the sheer delight of riding.
Training as a volunteer ride leader with British Cycling in 2015, she took the lead in organizing women-only bike rides. With each pedal stroke, she empowered and guided women to rediscover the freedom and confidence that cycling brings.
Cycling soon became more than just a mode of transport or a form of exercise; it became a shared passion. The founder, who never envisioned being at the helm of a cycling club, found herself deeply proud to be part of a project that offered women so much more than just rides.
Now, the cycling club stands as a testament to the power of community, shared experiences, and the simple joy of riding. Every turn of the pedal spins a tale of camaraderie, empowerment, and the thrill of exploring the city on two wheels. And so, our cycling story continues, with each ride adding a new chapter to the tale of our wonderful group of ladies and the cycling community they've created.
