DC Velo Limited traces its roots back to 1993 when a group of friends, bound by their love for bike racing, laid the foundation for what would become a renowned cycling club. Initially known as District of Columbia Velo Club, it evolved from the Century Bicycle Racing Club, operating from the 7 am Saturday rides in Silver Spring, Md. The club's "Continental Congress" in 1993 led to the adoption of the name "DC Velo."

The club's journey includes notable jersey changes, the tragic loss of member Carl Dolan during a race in 1999, and the renaming of the Columbia Spring Classic to the Carl Dolan Memorial Spring Classic in his honor. The turn of the century brought about a focus on unity and community outreach, with the establishment of the DC Velo Outreach Foundation.

In the mid-2000s, DC Velo transitioned into an elite race team under the leadership of Josh Frick, marking a new era of success with multiple championships. The team's growth has been carefully cultivated, maintaining a vibrant community united in the pursuit of victories. Today, DC Velo Limited stands as a dynamic cycling club with a rich history, continuing to embrace its legacy of passion for bike racing, community engagement, and a shared dream of winning as a team.
