About this club

Welcome to Yorkshire Rose Cycling Club (YRCC), Sheffield's newest and most rapidly expanding women's cycling community. Founded in May 2016 by Jackie Kirkman and Clare Froggatt, our club provides women with a supportive and enjoyable network to nurture their cycling skills, stay fit, make new friends, and indulge in a shared love for cake! With over 100 members, YRCC aims to be the most inclusive and welcoming women's cycling club in the Sheffield area.

Members can choose from a variety of rides starting at different locations across Sheffield. Our carefully planned rides cater to all levels, offering three ride types: Green, Amber, and Red (details available under 'Rides Types' in the 'Rides' menu). Whether you're a gentle rider or a seasoned cyclist, there's a ride for you. Prospective members are encouraged to join us for a ride, meet our members, and ask any questions about the club. If you're not cycling regularly, consider starting with a 'green' ride, or reach out to us for guidance.

YRCC has rapidly grown, bringing together over 100 members for regular rides and social events. Sunday rides are a staple all year round, featuring three grades to suit everyone. Midweek rides are often organized spontaneously by members.

Our lively members' Facebook page keeps everyone connected, and we host occasional members' meetings, social events, and workshops on topics like bike maintenance and route planning. Every ride includes a vital cafe/cake stop, emphasizing a supportive atmosphere where no one is left behind. All rides and events are organized via Facebook, so having an account is recommended.

Our sponsor, The Giant Store Sheffield, provides a 10% discount to YRCC members, along with regular workshops and classes. Speak with Lisa at The Giant Store Sheffield to explore the additional benefits of joining this friendly and inclusive cycling club.

Yorkshire Rose Cycling Club is committed to making cycling accessible to all women, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, age, or ability, and whether cis, trans, or non-binary. All are welcome.

Supported by a dedicated committee, YRCC strives to develop the club, increase membership, and promote women's cycling in Sheffield. New members are welcomed throughout the year, and committee members are elected at our AGM. Join us for a ride, some cake, and a fantastic cycling experience! ‍
