By forming a dedicated group for women committed to racing, we strive to boost registrations and broaden the field, ensuring racing remains fun, competitive, and a lifelong pursuit. Our commitment extends to traveling and racing together as a team, fostering camaraderie among women riders.

Vision:Our vision is to elevate the women's field within Alberta's cycling scene. We aspire to see an increase in start line numbers for regional Road Races, envisioning a future where women have the opportunity to compete in 3+ race categories for road racing in Alberta.

Support and Growth:Watt Riot Cycling is dedicated to providing support and growth opportunities for women chasing bigger podiums, whether on the track or road. While we encourage their participation in local races, we recognize that broader aspirations may limit involvement in every event. Acknowledging their impact on the sport's development, motivation, and the growth of future riders, we aim to maintain a home base for these formidable athletes.

History:In 2017, a significant development in Alberta races granted category 1/2/3 women their dedicated start line, marking progress in women's representation in the sport. Prior to this, 1/2/3 women raced alongside category 3 men, a setup that could be intimidating due to doubled race distance and a significantly larger field. Watt Riot Cycling emerged from the desire to continue supporting and growing this community, empowering women across all levels of cycling.
