The Redlands Cycling & Multisport Club boasts a rich history spanning over five decades since its establishment in 1970. It all began with a group of passionate riders in the Bayside area who saw the value of forming an amateur cycling club in Wynnum. In 1970, they successfully launched the Wynnum Police & Citizens Amateur Cycling Club, setting up headquarters at Lota under the leadership of Norman Beverley.

In 1972, the club organized the inaugural "Redlands Tour," featuring A, B, and C grade classifications. While road racing initially took center stage, the club later introduced grass circuit racing tailored for children aged 7 to 16, held in parklands behind the Lota Police Club. The initiative's success led to the construction of a 400-meter dirt track at Lota, serving as the venue for weekly races until 1981 when the Chandler Velodrome was built.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the club flourished, excelling in both track and road racing disciplines. Wynnum Redlands emerged as a premier club, with members securing Queensland team selections and clinching Australian titles. Notable achievements include Robert Crossley's selection for the Commonwealth Games Road Team in 1982, Kerry Carmichael's representation at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, and Peter Bartley's participation in the 1985 UCI Junior Pursuit Track Championships in Italy.

Today, the Redlands Cycling & Multisport Club continues its legacy of excellence, fostering a vibrant community of cyclists and multisport enthusiasts while upholding its proud heritage of competitive success and camaraderie.
