Major Taylor Cycling Club

Major Taylor Cycling Club Los Angeles (MTCCLA) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization devoted to promoting healthy living through cycling while actively contributing to community well-being. As a proud member of the Major Taylor Association, we draw inspiration from Marshall Walter “Major” Taylor, the first African American world champion in any sport during the late 19th century.
Welcoming individuals of all abilities, MTCCLA operates as a "no drop" club, ensuring no one is left behind on our rides. To join, all you need is a safe bike, a proper cycling helmet, spare tubes, personal provisions, and a positive attitude.
Our activities include regularly scheduled club rides, weekly training rides, and advanced rides for those seeking a challenge. Beyond cycling, we engage in community service, supporting charity events such as the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure and AIDS Life Cycle, along with various regional charities and cycling advocacy programs. Join MTCCLA for a blend of cycling, camaraderie, and community impact.

Our club is always looking for new members. We’d love to have you join or answer any questions that you have about the club, our membership, or our activities.
