GoBike, formerly Glasgow Cycling Campaign, originated in the 1980s, advocating for a Bike Plan for a Better Glasgow, which remains relevant today. While initially active in Glasgow, East Renfrewshire, and East Dunbartonshire, a revival from 2010 onwards revitalized the group.

Our proposals encompass a network of integrated cycling facilities, advocating for lower speed limits and safer crossings over the Clyde. Existing cycle lanes, including the South West City Way, showcase progress, yet major arterial routes require further attention.

Improved junctions and enhanced public transport integration, such as dedicated bike spaces on trains, are essential. We advocate for secure park-and-ride facilities, workplace amenities, and widespread bike racks to promote cycling accessibility.

A bike-friendly Glasgow benefits all, fostering freedom of movement, safer streets for children, and improved air quality. Cycling offers congestion relief, reduces air pollution, promotes health, and enhances public safety. It's time for Glasgow to embrace cycling as a sustainable and inclusive mode of transport.
