Canterbury Time Trial Association is dedicated to fostering specialist time trialing skills in the Canterbury region. Our focus extends beyond individual races; we structure our season to build towards regional and national club championships. It's not just about the race of truth for us – our club has proudly clinched the Club Points Trophy at the 2016 and 2019 Cycling New Zealand Age Group Championships, showcasing our excellence in both road race and time trial events.

Our journey traces back to October 1981 when the first time trial event on the Old Tai Tapu Road course took place with 12 riders. The event, won with a short 23, marked the beginning of a legacy. Over the years, the popularity of time trialing grew, leading to the decision to separate TT events from the Canterbury Recreational Cycling Club in 1986. By 1991, the association saw its largest participation with 93 riders.

Our time trial courses cover various routes, including the Old Tai Tapu Road, The Old West Coast Road, Ashley to Amberley, and the Spencer Park circuit. We have a rich history of organizing events, including Tuesday evening races and two Sunday morning events per month, offering 16, 25, and 40 Kms.

The Canterbury Time Trial Association, formerly affiliated with Pegasus Cycling Club, became an Incorporated entity in 2012, allowing us to retain our unique identity. We take pride in supporting our riders in attending national events, achieving remarkable success. In 2016, we secured the club shield at the National Age Group Road Championships in Alexandra, and again in 2019 at Pleasant Point, showcasing our commitment to excellence on the national stage.
