Blind Stokers Club

Established in 2005 in San Diego, the Blind Stokers Club (BSC) is dedicated to breaking down barriers in recreational bicycling. The club's unique approach revolves around teamwork and mentoring, aiming to share the joys of cycling with individuals who may not have the visual acuity to pilot a bike independently.
The foundation of BSC lies in forming teams, each comprising three essential elements: the stoker (visually impaired rider), the captain (sighted rider), and a specially designed tandem bike. By pairing sighted captains with visually impaired stokers, BSC creates an inclusive environment where everyone can experience the simple pleasures of bicycling together.
While rooted in San Diego, BSC welcomes members from all locations, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and shared enjoyment of cycling. Through organized rides and the power of teamwork, the Blind Stokers Club continues to pedal towards fostering a community where cycling knows no visual limitations.

Our club is always looking for new members. We’d love to have you join or answer any questions that you have about the club, our membership, or our activities.
